Breastfeeding, that is. With Reese, I had to pump. I had sore, bleeding nipples, but it went away quickly. And after the initial minute or so of the pump, the pain went away. This time, I have a baby that is nursing like a champ, but my nips are a mess! The first 3 days, she would unlatch, I think out of frustration. Now that my milk is in, the letdown startles her and she tries to pull off. My nipples are a bleeding mess! And when she latches on, it's like shards of glass coming out of my nipples. She also stops sucking often and when she starts back up again, the pain starts all over again. I've been using lanolin and I have breast shells that I use during the day because even my shirt touching then hurts! I know that I'm so fortunate to have a baby that is nursing well, but please remind me that this pain is temporary and that it's all worth it in the end! Right now, I want to cry at every feeding :(
